Thirty five year veteran of wedded "bliss"

We'll actually, it takes two to tango. My knight, Sir R of the Valley has also survived 35 years! Who knew? We wear the medal of perseverance lightly, as our aging posture only allows. However, God isn't finished with us yet. There's still that tango to fathom, albeit, horizontal will fare best. Stunningly, amazed at the adventures of this life of loving, learning and leaving those in our path commiserating on, "how'd they survive that one?" Here's to waiting and hoping in Gods continued faithful grace on us and ours.

Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?

The words in the title are from an old song, Sinatra I think. Looks like I'm bogged down from blogging due to concerns of security and judgement(aka. Being misunderstood). Anyone care to share your thoughts on this issue?

Blogging...Joy!

Oh the joys of learning how to blog.....funny word!

Due to my complete indulgence of facebook, I'm ready to stop and smell the roses, move a little slower  and contemplate deeper.

This blog of  Carols family life may just be the ticket to refocus on family again, not sure if it will be helpful to anyone else but here goes.

Pinterest is very therapeutic in organizing thoughts and ideas.  Often finding inspiration from art and prints posted there! But, I can't view it too often or it looses its appeal,  on stage comes blogging...dum da ta tum!   New adventure!  The pay would be nice too, we'll see ?

Oh Joy !! A blogging we will go , a blogging we will go, High Ho the dairy o a blogging we will go!

It's a Little League Summer!

We're winding down the summer of exciting Little League action.
Patrick played such a great game as the center outfielder that he was awarded the GAME ball this week. William hit a single, double and then a triple that hit the fence and had everyone cheering! Thomas really enjoyed playing soccer in the forward position with several assist and scored a couple himself. When his season was over he helped Mom with her turn at the concession stand for Little League. This is the last week of baseball with make up games and parties to celebrate a great season and best of all TROPHY TIME.

We look forward to lots more fun activities during the summer and will get some pics to share the fun.

Our Trip to Memphis-August 23, 2007

We had a wonderful trip to Memphis, even though we didn't get to leave until 4pm, as our car was at the mechanics. We arrived in Sevierville around 10:30pm, but were able to leave early enough the next morning to miss Knoxville's morning traffic. The first place we stopped in Memphis that afternoon was Grandmother's and Grandpa's. We were all ready to get out of the car and see our family. After a nice fairly short visit, so as not to overwhelm them with too much love at once, we headed over to check in at Studio Plus. The next day we did our dutiful Memphis routine of getting lunch at Chuck E. Cheese and having fun with the cousins. The fun continued to the pool at Studio Plus where Lydia, Wright, Ryan and Pam joined Thomas, Patrick, William and I. As this day was Grandmother's 76th Birthday, next we headed over to their house for BBQ dinner (thanks to Uncle David and Steve), cake, flowers and presents. What a great celebration and wonderful visit. Then to truely top it off, with David's guidance we saw the Space Shuttle race across the night time sky. The next day, Sat. we had a nice visit with Memaw and her sweet friend. Memaw always fixes us wonderful food that we really enjoy. She had changed her living room around and it seemed so much bigger, Wow, it looked great! Billie and Bob were just as chipper as ever. They are sooo cute. After spending the day, we headed back to Studio Plus once the little thunderstorm passed. Since, it wasn't too late we were able to go by the Christian bookstore and find Thomas and Patrick new Bibles. They were so proud to take them to church with the Grandparents the next morning. Thomas and Grandpa did have a little trouble with the new pages when looking for the sermon passage in Zephaniah, but Grandmother came to the rescue. It was so great to see familier faces there at Bartlett Baptist. I was able to introduce the boys to my old Sunday School teacher, Carol Bakker and our former pastor Dr. Hays, who married Rory and I. For lunch, Steve's family had quite a do for everyone, smoked chicken and venison, with green beans, deviled eggs, potatoes, rolls and melt in your mouth chocolate chip pie. Afterwards, some of us watched a funny movie and others, played outside. Sunday evening we ended our visit with going to Bellvue Baptist with Steve, Ryan, Lydia and Wright. Afterwards Steve and I had a heart to heart, that was so sweet and memorable for both of us. We are so blessed with our families and thankful to be able to squeeze in a little visit before the school year begins. We had a safe uneventful trip home, except to chase down the pizza delivery guy with our supper. Ha! As always so thankful to be home, see Daddy and rest in our own little beds.

Twaila Paris Concert w/Korean Children's Choir

Patrick, William and I, along with our friends the Suhr's went to enjoy this concert in Fredricksburg, Va at the Spottswood Baptist Church, Sunday night. We were all touched by the beautiful culture and hearts of these Korean children. Twaila Paris's song "God is in Control" spoke volumes of comfort to my heart. Praise Him for these who use their talents to gloify the King of Kings.
